APD earned his PhD in Human Genetics from the University of Utah. He has over 27 years of experience in biocuration, serving in leadership roles at three different databases in the public and private sectors. Since joining CTD in 2005, he has managed the day-to-day biocuration efforts of CTD (Co-PI since 2018), including: development of sustainable and flexible curation paradigms; writing project manuals; training biocurators; managing literature workflow pipelines; generating analysis, visualization, and querying tools in collaboration with software developers; maintaining biocuration and project metrics; resolving QC/QA issues for monthly data updates; contributing scientific expertise to the preparation of grants, manuscripts, and conference presentations as well as planning future development of content and functionality.
